Why “Arthritis and Joint Pain” Strives to Promote Quality Health Information for All Ages Affected by Arthritis or Joint Pain
We launched arthritisandjointpain.com to take a little different approach to the subject. This is a grass-roots effort. Most of our writers have arthritis. The ones who volunteered to write for the site have attached their names to their articles, unless otherwise noted. Others we hired to research an aspect of one of the many arthritic diseases and treatment options and write it up for the website.

When we had the choice, we hired people with arthritis, even if it was a different variety than they wrote about. Though it is not the mission of this website to “hire the handicapped,” so to speak, it is the mission of the website to provide heartfelt, hard-researched, and hard-fun comments and commentary from those who know the subject best–whether or not they are professional writers.

If you would like to contribute your story or observations, we would be delighted to consider them. Professional editing for articles that appear on this site is available at no charge to the writer, or you can request to leave your article “as is.” You can also choose whether or not to attach your name to it.

So that’s a little bit about our writers. What is it we’re hoping to accomplish that is different from the Arthritis Foundation or other famous organizations and treatment centers working in the field? After all, many are full-time in research and treatment for joint pain and inflammatory conditions.

We aim to offer solid and easy-to-access information about the most common types of arthritis. (Of course, for favored treatments, we must hear from our readers about what does and does not work!) Drug advertisers will pay BIG BUCKS for you to click on their ad. Yes, we let them to advertise here. Nonetheless, we want real experiences to share with you, because there are no two people alike—if there were, one of them would not be necessary!

If we wanted to build a site that is the be-all-and-end-all of arthritis information, we’d have to feed in all the medical textbooks. Then you wouldn’t know anymore than you do now. That’s why we’re sticking to common problems; although, we mention the others so you’ll know what else to look for if you don’t find your problem here.

We’ve asked all our researches to aim to write at a 6th grade level. That’s hard to achieve when the name of the condition they’re assigned is six syllables and ‘arthritis’ has dozens of spellings! Most of the authors were able to stay at about an 8th grade reading level. If you’d like to edit an article, or add another one, please contact us. (You’ll notice some intentional misspellings on the site because we want people who don’t know how to spell it to find our information.)

In addition, many of the tools manufactured for people with the limited mobility of arthritics are very well-suited to people with other limitations, including broken arms, wrists, hands, legs, ankles and feet. We hope people seeking carefully-researched products and tools for aging in place or conveniences for the occasional broken arm or broken leg will also find and appreciate our tips. Supplying information that helps website visitors choose what works is a mandate we take seriously.
